Griha looks like she needs a hug in that last panel. She's been so adorable and chipper to this point that to see her depressed makes the emotional kick that much harder.

Unfortunately even the most positive people experience sadness... :(

Is she a little embarrassed that he's calling her his roommate?

No, she is surprised to see RJ acknowledge her as an equal.

In other words, as a person. Which seems to have been rare to her.

Yeah. There are some bad supernatural races of course, but humans are known among all supernatural races to be very selfish and exploitative. Hence why Griha had such hard time believing when RJ said he doesn't want the wishes.

I'm pretty sure that's mainly due to the fact that the Supernatural Races have incredible powers that make their life easy, while Humans generally have to work hard for everything, and even then might have nothing to show for it

So if a quick easy way to the good life is available, of course they're going to pursue it

I'm guessing RJ's an exception cause he's always had the good life, but saw just what a slacker his Dad was, and thus grew to respect those who put in effort

And you just proved my point. That's the exact thinking pattern humans in this story would use to justify abuse towards supernatural creatures. Supernatural races may have powers, but that doesn't automatically make their life easy. Humans believing that they're just "pursuing the good life" and that they have the right to abuse another living creature for it, is exactly why humans are known to be very selfish and exploitative around the supernatural creatures.

Don't get why noone has ever just gone "I wish for all your powers" or "I wish I could grant my own wishes" before

Also comparison, Humanity would have it much tougher than any magical race

"Wait, you can summon rain and make plant grow in an instant, I have to cultivate my field and hope there's not a drought... or a flood, or a plague, or locusts, or..."
